Virtual Workplace In 2007-08, the SGDI completed the grant funded "Virtual Workplace Training" online multiplayer game using 3DVIA Virtools multiplayer technology and the Moodle learning management system.
Game Prototyping In the MAT 168 Game Prototyping course, one of the projects that students enjoy the most involves advanced game character implementation.
Game Environments The Gothic Cathedral is one of the projects that students construct in the MAT 167 3D Environment Design course.  The course covers techniques for modeling, texturing, and lighting environments for both feature film and real-time game applications.
The Pyramid The Pyramid is a game for diet health education designed for players ages 8-9.  Based upon the USDA's "MyPyramid", the game is 'platformer' played in the web browser.  The game is intended to be used as a supplement to the USDA MyPyramid.

About SDGI

The Serious Game Design Institute at Santa Barbara City College is a grant funded project of the Economic and Workforce Development Program of the California Community Colleges that serves California’s Serious Game and Simulations industry. The SGDI provides real-world production experience for SBCC's School of Media Arts game development students and also provides the Multimedia Entertainment Initiative with online training for California’s Community College faculty who are interested in game industry curriculum development.
